OVERVIEW:
This is our latest version of the 990 discrete opamp. It’s identical to Deane Jensen’s original circuit published in 1980.
We combine the precision of surface-mount components with Jensen’s original choice of output transistors to maintain the authentic sound of the 990. The large aluminum heatsink ensures that the device operates smoothly even at ±24V supply voltage.
It’s often described as “3D” sounding, natural and true to the source.
After frequent requests, we’re happy to make it available to purchase separately. It will be a great addition to the DIY community, or anyone interested in modding a piece of gear.
