- 65dB of total gain
- Variable high-pass filter (20Hz – 1kHz)
- Hi-Z FET input using a Toshiba 2SK170
- 990 discrete opamp

This is our traditional transformer-input microphone preamp based around a single 990 discrete opamp and a Jensen JT-16 input transformer. Combined with a vintage Jensen output transformer, it sounds accurate and open, but not dull at all!
It features a variable high-pass Butterworth filter with an ultra linear frequency response. At the recording stage, simply turn the knob to remove any unwanted low frequencies. The MPF-500 also uses the same great Hi-Z FET input circuit as our TS-990 mic preamp.
